Details went up on the Manics’ website yesterday (manicstreetpreachers.com) for their new album and tour.
I think I preferred the title “Its Not War – Just The End Of Love”, but I guess the new one will grow on me. And as much as I love Tim Roth, I’m not really grabbed by the cover. But there you go. Still hugely excited and looking forward to dragging my creaky ageing carcass to a few gigs. I’m a little concerned by the line “one last shot at mass communication” in the press release (and they’re dropping it into interviews too) but it seems to be referring to the album as a ‘last shot’ at commercial success rather than an intent to split up afterwards. I hope so anyway, as I really don’t know how I’d cope without Nicky Wire popping into my life every few years.
